OOTD: Sunny Days in Oslo

I’m back! It’s been forever and I’m so so sorry. There’s really no excuse, but the fact that I think I’ve just been uninspired and tired. But summer is finally here and I will use it to my advantage to get up some lovely posts for you guys!

18817700_1339813076101372_1369032046_o

On Friday, me and my sister had a lovely dinner at Olivia Tjuvholmen, which is an Italian restaurant in Oslo. I have very good experiences with the food there and it’s not very expensive, which makes it an easy option on a sunny day!

My outfit:
Jacket – Gina Tricot | Top – Brandy Melville | Skirt – H&M | Shoes – Converse

The weather has been amazing the last few days! Only sunny days and it’s been extremely hot. Too bad I’m stuck inside studying for my exams all day. But, in a week it will all be over and I’ll finally have a well deserved summer vacay!

How’s your week been? Have you had sunny weather as well?

Sunset Walks

Allthough my outfits tend to be very monochrome, I find contrasts so beautiful. A white snowy road meets the red sky. White shirt and black jeans. The cold weather meets the warmth of the sun. Lately we’ve been blessed with more sun, it’s getting lighter outside and I can feel myself getting lighter inside as well. We are slowly saying goodbye to the cold and dark winter and welcoming spring(well, not yet though, this is Norway after all).

img_3867

In this post I thought I would show you an outfit that I feel reflect very well on my personal style. If I could I would probably have worn this every day, but let’s pretend I didn’t say that. Wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m boring.

This outfit is put together by both old and new items. A white shirt that I’ve had since forever, a black belt that I found hidden in the back of my closet and cannot even remember how I got, some fairly new black jeans and my all time favorite and beloved grey woollen coat.

Outfit Details: Sunglasses – H&M | Coat – URBAN | Shirt – Cubus | Jeans – Carlings | Boots – Pavement

I’m also wearing some really cool socks from Monki, with a dog riding a bicycle on them. Just thought you should know.

These photos made me realize I want to shoot more in the early sunsets. The lighting is so magical. A big thank you to my little sister who gets dragged out in whatever weather and forced on these walks with me to take photos, you da best.

Hope you are all doing amazing. I have had my winter holidays this week and I must say, I could really get used to not having to go to school everyday. The week has so far consisted of 80% watching Bates Motel on Netflix and 20% homework. Do not follow my example, kids. Now that I’ve watched all the seasons that are out on Netflix so far I might be able to be a bit productive before the weekend comes. Wish me luck.

How has your week been so far?

Colorful Walls

Where: a parking lot near Grønland in Oslo, which I discovered the other day is now a building area. Thought I’d use these “old” photos to reminisce about this little grafitti wall with its bright colors.

My Getaway Weekend

Sometimes we just need to hit the pause button on life and enjoy ourselves a little getaway from reality. This weekend I visited one of my best friends who lives and studies in beautiful Trondheim, the city of the wooden houses.

img_3799

You’ll find Trondheim located almost in the middle of Norway, around 500 km north of the capital, Oslo, where I live. Being one of the most popular student cities in Norway, Trondheim is always full of life and adventure. To capture everything we did on this amazing weekend would be nearly impossible, but I would like to take you along on the walk we had on Saturday, in beautiful and sunny, though very windy weather.

Walking along Nidelva, which runs through Trondheim, you’ll see small and big wooden houses in various colors all along the riverside.

Nidarosdomen(The Nidaros Cathedral), place of the burial of St. Olav, and a unique Middle Age building. The cathedral is so massive you can’t even capture the entire building in one shot.

On the last two photos, Solsiden(the sunny side), best known for its long strip of restaurants and bars, filled with lights and life during Trondheims nightlife.

Such a wonderful and amazing city that I cannot recommend enough. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Time for a Haul

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you’ve all come off to a good start of 2017! As the title implies: New Year, New Me, New Clothes. Well, not really. I’m actually quite happy with where I am as a person now and for the new year I will try to embrace that and develop even more as a person. Clothingwise I haven’t really found much of any interest in the sales this season, but there are a few pieces that I just couldn’t resist(some of them weren’t even on sale, I just had to have them)!

img_3628

BikBok Billy Pullover in Pastel Pink.

img_3645

img_3641

I feel like this is the type of sweather that you don’t even need to touch to know that it’s soft, you can just see it. And it’s so soft. I’m also loving this pastel pink color as it really brightens up any outfit for winter.

img_3695

BikBok Will t-shirt with Roses.

img_3696

I just thought this t-shirt was so cool and unique, and at the same time very simple. Perfect to spice up an all black outfit. I later found out that there’s another version of this t-shirt with little birds on it and it’s so pretty. Perfect to combine with light denim in the summer. I will go back to get it. (Find it here).

img_3710

BikBok Mia Sweater, Furry Black.

img_3711

img_3701

I used to own a sweater like this and I loved it so much, but somehow it just disappeared and I’ve never found it again. So when I found this (almost) replica of it I got really happy. It’s super fluffy and cosy and also really warm.

img_3762

The next one isn’t clothing, but this beautiful notebook. If you didn’t know I am a great Harry Potter fan and this classic black book caught my eye instantly. Not to mention, I have an obsession for pretty stationairy. The only problem is that it’s so pretty that I don’t want to waste the use of it. I want to use it for something really nice. Any ideas?

img_3765

Lastly I bought this white lace bralette from Lindex tha I just found so delicate and pretty. It made me think that I need to find a way to combine lace more in my outfits, it can be so beautiful if worn the right way.

Thank you so much for reading. As you may see, I’ve done some small changes to my design. I’m really working on keeping my blog top quality and well written for the new year so that I can be proud of everything I post. I’m thinking about doing a Q&A post some time in the near future as well, so if you have any questions you’re dying to get answered, please include them in your comment, that would mean a lot! Hope you’re all having a great day. You’re all amazing.

Christmas Recap

Hello everyone! How has your Holidays been? My four days off of work were definitely very relaxing and I managed to re-gain a lot of lost energy. Since I’ve been a bit MIA during the Christmas times, due to work and being with family and friends, I thought I’d bring you a little Christmas recap to let you guys tag along to what I’ve been up to the days up to and after Christmas, so let’s go! PS: There’s going to be a lot of iPhone photos, so bare with me on the quality this time!

December 20th

15820801_1195048557244492_1523436042_o

Remember I talked about the Christmas market? I finally got to visit it together with my friend, Ida. We decided to have a full on wintery and Christmassy day and started it all off with some fun at the skating rink.

15785631_1195048457244502_603303957_o

15778527_1195048573911157_693103356_o

Up next, lots of Christmas goodies. I went for churros with cinnamon and sugar and Ida went for a Belgian waffle with chocolate. For drinks I got a cup of hot Chocolate(with cream!!) and Ida had Gløgg(Norwegian version of Mulled Wine).

15824544_1195048470577834_994982015_o

Then of course, even though we’re both super scared of heights, we had to go on the Ferris wheel. Worst and best decision of the day. It was all idyllic and fun until we reached the top and the wheel stopped cause they were letting mote people on. We seriously froze in fear, it was so high up!!! The view was so and so as it was a very foggy day, but we could indeed see how high up we were!

15817746_1195048477244500_1073214163_o

The view from the Ferris wheel with the skating rink underneath us and the market and shopping street to the left! The fancy building straight ahead is the Parliament!

December 23rd

img_3612

Spent the morning decorating the tree and the entire house for Christmas, as is the Christmas tradition in most Norwegian homes. I enjoyed this s much, really brings me back to being a kid and being all excited for Christmas. I actually think I enjoy it even more now really, haha!

img_3620

This is my self-made Christmas sweater, I’m cool like that.

December 24th

The big day. In Norway we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, meaning presents, food and dressing up all on this special evening.

My gorgeous glittery dress that I wore. Love the open back!

The evening was amazing and I just want to relive it over and over again. I didn’t take any photos of the meal that day, but I’ll show you a reconstruction(as I of course had leftovers the next day), to let you in on what we eat on Christmas Eve in Norway!

img_3596

img_3595

Dinner is either pork, lamb or fish mostly, depending on where in the country you’re from. In my family we eat pork. The main dish being ribs and then next to it, sausages and meatballs(they’re not really meatballs, just couldn’t find a better English word), potatoes, of course, and then two types of sauerkraut and mustard.

img_3622

For dessert: rice cream/risalamande/riskrem with raspberry sauce! This is literally the best thing in the world. Get at it if you ever have the chance.

December 25th

The next day was spent in my PJ’s and slippers digging into all the leftovers and wathcing Vampire Diaries. It was not a productive day AT ALL. Exactly how Christmas Day is supposed to be!

img_3597

img_3609

The last days have been more back to normal. And back to work, ugh. Been really spoilt with my dad making us so many amazing dishes for dinner, including his soon to be world famous pizza. Just look at this piece of art:

15824388_1195048150577866_94770796_o

One word: HEAVEN.

Hope you enjoyed this little recap. I probably won’t be seing you until next year now, so I hope you all have a very lovely day tomorrow, stay safe and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

xx,

What I got for Christmas 2016

Hello everyone! Hope you are all still having an amazing Christmas season, I know I am. Christmas Eve has passed and I thought I’d let you in on the gifts that I received this year. Hopefully, you are as nosy as me and find this post interesting, haha.

img_3608

First of all, like every year, I got spoilt with so many sweets. The banana candy to the right is sooo good(and extremely sweet, haha) and then of course a marzipan pig and some tiny chocolate covered marzipan pigs. Marzipan is a very popular Christmas treat in Norway.

img_3599

img_3600

Then, my sister got me this beautiful phone case from ‘Richmond&Finch’. It’s so posh, but I just love itttt. I haven’t had a case on my phone since I got it because I’m so picky and think the phone looks prettier without, but it’s time to face the fact that it wont last long without a solid case.

img_3605
img_3606

My sister also got me loads of these weird hairbands/scrunchies that I think are supposed to be better for yout hair than normail hairbands. They are really comfortable to keep your hair up with and doesn’t feel like they damage it or rip a lot of hairs out. The mittens are from my parents and are Norwegian Selbu mittens with the special Selburose knit pattern. Lovelovelove them and the Christmassy color. Will definitely be wearing these a lot, so please let us have some snow soon!

img_3602

From my uncle I got this book, which I actually hadn’t heard about, but I think it’s a classic and I am excited to read it! Have any of you guys read it?

img_3609

img_3610

From my aunt ant my other uncle and their kids I got these super fluffy baby blue slippers! My sister got the same ones in white and when she opened her present I was like “aww, I want some too” and then I opened mine and they had gotten some for me as well! I have been wearing these all day today, they are so comfy and insanely warm. Definitely the perfect winter gift!

I also got some money for Christmas this year as I, as you may know, am saving up for a bunad. So now I’m a little closer to that goal too! I am so thankful for all my presents, and also so thankful for last night spend with my closest family. It was the perfect Christmas Eve.

Hope everyone who’s celebrated today on Christmas Day have had as lovely a celebration as I had yesterday. My day has been spend in the attire seen above: Penguin PJ’s and fluffy slippers while watching ‘Vampire Diaries’ and digging into a bunch of Christmas leftovers!

Also, today I woke up to 300 followers on my blog! That’s insane and such an amazing Christmas Day Surprise! Thank you all so much for the support and lovely comments both here and on my other social media, you make my day! ♥

Christmas Hugs,

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Yes, I know, where have I been? I just realized it’s 10 days since I last posted anything on this blog and I’m so sorry. The last weeks have been very hectic. I had two exams which happened to be on the day after each other and I was panicking trying to get through everything I had to read. I think they went well, though. Other than that, I’ve just had a lot on my mind and I must admit I’ve been feeling a little bit down. But now, with only one exam left to go it’s time to put on the blogging shoes again and tell you about my favorite day that I had last week.

img_0272

img_0276

On Saturday, after my two exams were well over with, me and one of my best friends decided we had to treat ourselves to a little celebration, including dinner and a movie. For dinner we went to a thai restaurant in Oslo called YaYa’s. And if you’re ever in Oslo and in the mood for some delicious thai, this is the place! The food is amazing and the restaurant is so creatively decorated with lots of colors and fun furniture. We both had the Chicken Cashew wook, Yayasssssss. For movie we had both been longing to see “Fantastic Beasts and where to find them” in the cinemas. I know there’s split opinions as to the movie, but I absolutely loved it. I loved being back in the wizarding world and the entire movie felt so magical with such a well thought out balance between comedy, romance and darkness. 10/10 recommend from me.

Saturday was also the day they put up all the Christmas lights and trees in the city and in celebration of that they held the most amazing fireworks show! We didn’t know about it beforehand and was taken by surprise when suddenly the entire sky was filled with lights and colors – so beautiful!

img_0287

img_0286

img_0289

On the last picture you can see the gates to the “Christmas street/market” which I am dying to visit, and when I do, there will be a post. Promise!

I had to use pictures of my phone as I didn’t bring my camera into the city, so I hope you can bear with the quality. Other than that I want to announce that I am jumping onto the Blogmas-train, and I really hope I’ll be able to put up a Christmassy post every day through December! I’ve got a lot of ideas – so keep your eyes peeled, lovelies!

Burgundy, Baby

It’s November and almost just a month till Christmas is here. Sadly, our snow has left us and we’re left embracing the Fall season again. Nothing wrong with being able to bring out my brand new bomber for it’s first city walk without freezing my arms off, though.

img_3419

I’m all about a good color match. Therefore, when I saw this cute little street with it’s burgundy bricks and the red fence in the background I simply had to take advantage. Don’t get me wrong, being all matchy-matchy doesn’t always look fabulous, but I think this combo worked out quite well.

I love finding inspiration in my surroundings. Whether I’m on the bus, looking through the window at home or walking through the park I’m always alert of what’s around me and how it all feels. I think it’s called mindfullness. And I’m so happy I discovered this little street. Think I’ll have to go back one day for more photos. Make sure you always let your surroundngs inspire you and not let you down. See the positive side of things.

My outfit details can be found in my previous post here, which is also full of photos inspired by my surroundings. And also, while we’re at the shameless self-promo..(here’s my insta as well).

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday. Mine is a chilled one, trying to gather enough energy to survive my exams nest week. Gahh..

Exploring the Streets of Oslo

I just love living in the city. The raving city life, all the people buzzing around, the tiny cafes on every street corner and the diversity of people and buildings all in one place. On Sunday, me and my friend Elise, decided to explore. We wanted to take some cool pictures and we knew excactly where we could get them.

img_3451
img_3449
img_3450

We went to Grünerløkka in Oslo. Sundays are always market days at Grünerløkka, which means the streets are full of life and there’s always something to look at. Not to mention, the street art around the area of BLÅ is just amazing. This whole area is so urban and exiting.

This last wall painting is my favorite. I see it everytime I take the tram home from the city. Shows how amazing a childs imagination is in such a sweet way.

This one became a post with more pictures and less words, because sometimes I just feel the pictures tell the entire story for themselves. Quite true that a picture says more than a thousand words.
