Sunset Walks

Allthough my outfits tend to be very monochrome, I find contrasts so beautiful. A white snowy road meets the red sky. White shirt and black jeans. The cold weather meets the warmth of the sun. Lately we’ve been blessed with more sun, it’s getting lighter outside and I can feel myself getting lighter inside as well. We are slowly saying goodbye to the cold and dark winter and welcoming spring(well, not yet though, this is Norway after all).

img_3867

In this post I thought I would show you an outfit that I feel reflect very well on my personal style. If I could I would probably have worn this every day, but let’s pretend I didn’t say that. Wouldn’t want anyone to think I’m boring.

This outfit is put together by both old and new items. A white shirt that I’ve had since forever, a black belt that I found hidden in the back of my closet and cannot even remember how I got, some fairly new black jeans and my all time favorite and beloved grey woollen coat.

I’m also wearing some really cool socks from Monki, with a dog riding a bicycle on them. Just thought you should know.

These photos made me realize I want to shoot more in the early sunsets. The lighting is so magical. A big thank you to my little sister who gets dragged out in whatever weather and forced on these walks with me to take photos, you da best.

Hope you are all doing amazing. I have had my winter holidays this week and I must say, I could really get used to not having to go to school everyday. The week has so far consisted of 80% watching Bates Motel on Netflix and 20% homework. Do not follow my example, kids. Now that I’ve watched all the seasons that are out on Netflix so far I might be able to be a bit productive before the weekend comes. Wish me luck.

How has your week been so far?

Colorful Walls

Where: a parking lot near Grønland in Oslo, which I discovered the other day is now a building area. Thought I’d use these “old” photos to reminisce about this little grafitti wall with its bright colors.

Time for a Haul

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you’ve all come off to a good start of 2017! As the title implies: New Year, New Me, New Clothes. Well, not really. I’m actually quite happy with where I am as a person now and for the new year I will try to embrace that and develop even more as a person. Clothingwise I haven’t really found much of any interest in the sales this season, but there are a few pieces that I just couldn’t resist(some of them weren’t even on sale, I just had to have them)!

img_3628

BikBok Billy Pullover in Pastel Pink.

img_3645

img_3641

I feel like this is the type of sweather that you don’t even need to touch to know that it’s soft, you can just see it. And it’s so soft. I’m also loving this pastel pink color as it really brightens up any outfit for winter.

img_3695

BikBok Will t-shirt with Roses.

img_3696

I just thought this t-shirt was so cool and unique, and at the same time very simple. Perfect to spice up an all black outfit. I later found out that there’s another version of this t-shirt with little birds on it and it’s so pretty. Perfect to combine with light denim in the summer. I will go back to get it. (Find it here).

img_3710

BikBok Mia Sweater, Furry Black.

img_3711

img_3701

I used to own a sweater like this and I loved it so much, but somehow it just disappeared and I’ve never found it again. So when I found this (almost) replica of it I got really happy. It’s super fluffy and cosy and also really warm.

img_3762

The next one isn’t clothing, but this beautiful notebook. If you didn’t know I am a great Harry Potter fan and this classic black book caught my eye instantly. Not to mention, I have an obsession for pretty stationairy. The only problem is that it’s so pretty that I don’t want to waste the use of it. I want to use it for something really nice. Any ideas?

img_3765

Lastly I bought this white lace bralette from Lindex tha I just found so delicate and pretty. It made me think that I need to find a way to combine lace more in my outfits, it can be so beautiful if worn the right way.

Thank you so much for reading. As you may see, I’ve done some small changes to my design. I’m really working on keeping my blog top quality and well written for the new year so that I can be proud of everything I post. I’m thinking about doing a Q&A post some time in the near future as well, so if you have any questions you’re dying to get answered, please include them in your comment, that would mean a lot! Hope you’re all having a great day. You’re all amazing.

Burgundy, Baby

It’s November and almost just a month till Christmas is here. Sadly, our snow has left us and we’re left embracing the Fall season again. Nothing wrong with being able to bring out my brand new bomber for it’s first city walk without freezing my arms off, though.

img_3419

I’m all about a good color match. Therefore, when I saw this cute little street with it’s burgundy bricks and the red fence in the background I simply had to take advantage. Don’t get me wrong, being all matchy-matchy doesn’t always look fabulous, but I think this combo worked out quite well.

I love finding inspiration in my surroundings. Whether I’m on the bus, looking through the window at home or walking through the park I’m always alert of what’s around me and how it all feels. I think it’s called mindfullness. And I’m so happy I discovered this little street. Think I’ll have to go back one day for more photos. Make sure you always let your surroundngs inspire you and not let you down. See the positive side of things.

My outfit details can be found in my previous post here, which is also full of photos inspired by my surroundings. And also, while we’re at the shameless self-promo..(here’s my insta as well).

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday. Mine is a chilled one, trying to gather enough energy to survive my exams nest week. Gahh..

Wednesday’s Shopping Trip

So, as I mentioned in my previous blog post, me and my friend, Elise, had a little shopping trip on Wednesday. As I also mentioned, I wasn’t really supposed to buy anything. I guess you all probably see how well that plan went… Shopping ban on you from now on, Ingrid.

Anyways, I thought I’d run you through what I bought as I am truly pleased with everything and will without doubt be wearing them a lot. All of the pieces, especially the two jackets, are things I’ve been thinking about buying for a long time. Justifyes spending money on them a little more, right?….

1. MONKI Bomber Jacket.

img_3405img_3404

As some of you may recall I did a blog post a long time ago along the lines of “Fall Essentials” where I raged about the bomber jackets and how much I wanted one. Thing is, every time I’ve tried one on in the store I’ve just felt like it didn’t suit me at all or just made me look puffy and weird, so when I finally came across one that suited me I just had to purchase it, even though it’s a little bit cold for one now. A bomber jacket is a great transition jacket for both Fall and Spring, so I will definitely get a lot of use out of this one. (Will probably wear it in Winter as well, yolo)

2. MONKI Coat.

img_3406
img_3408
img_3410

Next up, this very cute black coat which I think will be perfect for the more dressed up occations. I’ve figured that a coat will never go off trend and is therefore always the perfect Fall/Winter jacket. This one can also be worn in many different ways, opened or closed, depending on what style you are going for.

3. MONKI Burgundy Scarf.

img_3391
img_3393

Can you tell we spend a lot of time in Monki? Hahah.
Monki is actually one of my favorite clothing stores, and even though I only went for basic clothing this time, they have so many unique and colorful pieces. Especially their sock collection, loving it, haha. Anyways, a huge blanket scarf always comes in handy in these cold months and as I only have a grey one I thought I needed one with some color as well. I also really want to get a scarf in mustard, but this time I went for burgundy.

4. BikBok Burgundy Headband.

img_3416
img_3417

I’m actually really about the headbands these days as they serve both the purpose of looking pretty as well as keeping your ears warm. I spotted this perfect velvet headband near the cashier desk at BikBok and I knew I had to pick it up. It is so soft and comfy, and at the same time makes me look oh so, Blair Waldorf-y(in a good way).

5. BikBok Beige Pants.

img_3399
img_3396
b

I spotted these pants at BikBok and I told my friend that “I really want a pair of pants like these, but I never know when I could wear them as I feel they are so formal!”
We then came to the agreement that I could wear the pants whenever I wanted to and when I saw how well they fitted me, especially in the waist, I was sold. These pants are literally so comfortable as well. It’s like wearing PJ’s to a party, yayy. Definitely hope to get a lot of use outta these.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday and heading in for a wonderful weekend as well! I will hopefully get a fun outfit post up on Sunday/Monday!

PS: I passed 200 followers on here the other day! Thank you soo much to everyone for all your support and being so lovely all the time. It means the world. x

PPS: I have an Instagram and it’s @ingsepingsen and it’s kinda cool.

An Amazing Surprise!

So, yesterday I had work from 15-21. I wasn’t really too motivated, but when I opened my closet at work and saw this, my day quickly became a whole lot better. One of my best friends, Helene, had gotten me the Too Faced “Born This Way” Foundation!

img_3227

The note says “Open me“..

I’ve been wanting this foundation for so long as I have tried it before and it literally works wonders. The thing is, they don’t sell Too Faced makeup in Norway, so whenever we want something from there we have to look to our neighbor countries, Sweden or Denmark, to find the closest Sephora. Helene’s mom was in Poland, where they have Sephora, so she asked if we needed anything and I kindly asked if she could purchase this for me if I sent her the money. But then they didn’t have it in my shade, so  Helene ordered it for me online as she was ordering some stuff from Sephora anyways.

So, I was actually going to pay for it. But then she surprised me with this in my closet at work along with the cutest note ever saying that she wanted to give the foundation to me because I deserved a present, awhhh.

img_3226

“Elsker deg” is Norwegian for “Love you” ♥ How lucky am I to have such great friends? This surprise really made my day and made going to work a lot easier.

img_3220

img_3221

Mine is in the shade ‘Porcelain’. As I’ve already said, this foundation is so amazing. When it comes to foundation it’s really the only makeup product that I am willing to pay a lot for. I previously had the “YSL Touche Éclat” foundation, which is amazing, but expensive. And so is this, really. It was around £32. But I actually think it’s worth it. At least for me, as I don’t use too much foundation at the time and it will last me very long. Of course it is very much of an individual choice what kind of makeup you like to spend your money on and I think there are many great options out there if you’re looking for a cheaper option. One that I have previosly used is the “IsaDora Nude Sensation“(£16), which is also great.

img_3214

It is a very light weight foundation. Yet it covers a lot and gives a very natural finnish to your skin. Also, the packaging is so pretty, haha..

img_2757

This is a very happy me, wearing just my new foundation and nothing more. Don’t I just have the sweetest friend ever? ♥

Have you tried this foundation? What is your favorite foundation?

Fall Favorites Tag

Hello you lovely bunch, it’s me. Yes, I am still alive. These last few days had just been extremely hectic. I’ve had school + I’ve been working Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Plus, I have also tried to have a life and socialize with my friends. I’m feeling a bit dissapointed in myself for not having posted anything these past days, but I just have not found the time. Also, Fall has come here in Norway, meaning shorter days and it’s getting a lot darker. I’m struggling to find a time of the day where I’m not busy and the sun is still out so that I can take good pictures for you guys.

Anyways, let’s not get all bummed out. Fall is also one of the most beautiful times of the year and even though there’s a lot of dark hours in the day I’m really enjoying all the beautiful colors of the leaves falling to the ground. Dearest Ruth/the10thstreet, who’s blog I absolutely adore, tagged me to do the ‘fall favorites tag’, so I thought I’d let you know some of my fall faves as well as showing some pictures of Fridays outfit.

img_2710

Favorite candle: Oh, I wish I knew the answer to that, but I’m not really much of a candle person yet. I really want to surround myself with cosy candles that smell nice and I also think they give that little extra autumnal feeling to the room, I just have never been the person to buy candles. I will have to do something about that.

Favorite lip product: First of all I always need to have my Body Shop lip conditioner with me at all times. But my absolute fave lip product this Fall is by far my Kylie lip kit in the shade ‘ginger’. It is the product that I am wearing in the pictures(and that I’ve probably worn almost every day). It’s seriously an amazing lipstick+liner.

img_2703

Favorite nail polish: ESSIE – ‘smoking hot’

Favorite clothing item: My grey wollen coat – it’s a lifesaver on cold days and it also makes you look like a real fashionista – will feature an outfit with it in a blog post very soon!

Favorite shoes: I always love some plain ankle boots in Fall.

Favorite accessory: A big scarf and some mittens, preferably in a color that pops, ex red or orange to give some color to my usually very grey/monochrome outfits.

Halloween or Thanksgiving? We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Norway, and Halloween isn’t such a big thing here either. But I’d have to go with Halloween. I’m not crazy about this day of the year, but I do think it’s fun with Halloween makeup looks and costumes.

Favorite drink: A standard hot chocolate, always.

img_2709

Favorite part of Fall: All the amazing colors on the trees and how the air is so fresh and a little bit colder, without it beein freezing outside.
(“Fun” fact though: We had snow yesterday. SNOW. In October. Ya, I’m outta here.)

img_2720

These are the accessories of my Friday outfit. Two simple silver necklaces plus a black, floral choker(which broke few seconds after this picture was taken, such a bummer).

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. One question: I’ve been thinking about making a vlog from my trip to Copenhagen this Summer as I did a lot of filming, would this be any interesting? Let me know, please.

Also, I’m tagging MermaidmoonChild and Mercy to do this Fall favorites tag!

What I bought in Copenhagen

This summer me, my sister and my dad spent a weekend in Copenhagen. Such a lovely city with so much life – and oh, how I love the Danish people. The trip mainly consisted of sightseeing, eating and SHOPPING. I didn’t spend too much money, considering I was on the edge of being broke that month. But Copenhagen has so many shops that we don’t have here in Norway, so I had to splurge just a little bit.

Firstly, I had some make up items on the top of my list:

img_1824

The Urban Decay NAKED SKIN concealer had been on my wish-list for a long time, as my previous concealer had run out and I wanted to try a new brand. And I have to say, this is worth all the rage. It has very good coverage and does not end up creasing, which I find is often a struggle with concealers.

img_1833

Secondly, I had to get myself a new mascara. This is the IsaDora Big Bold Mascara, which I personally think is really good, especially based on the fact that it is not pricy at all! When it comes to mascara I usually always buy either this one or the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara.

img_1836

Then, being at Sephora(which we don’t have at home!!), I had to get my hands on two Sleek pallettes. Firstly, I just love the simplistic black packaging and secondly, they are also quite cheap!

img_1838

This is the Sleek Cream Contour Kit in the shade Light. Been wanting to buy a Contour Kit for so long, so I just had to buy this one. Kinda wish I had bought a powder one though.

img_1837

Secondly, I bought the i-Divine Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette. And aren’t these colors just gorgeous? I especially fell in love with the two glittery shades Conker and Taupe.

img_1842

Tried to do a swatch of the two. Taking a picture of my own arm turned out harder than it seemed, though. Really looking forward to putting this palette to the test this fall, and try to create some cool smoky looks. Btw, all the makeup items above are cruelty free, meaning they have not been tested on animals. Buying cruelty free makeup is very easy and there are a lot of good CF brands out there. Just a small, but important sidetrack from my side.

Next up: Clothing. As I had already bought a lot of new clothes for summer, I only bought two pieces of clothing in Copenhagen, but my oh my, do I love them both!

img_1806

When I walked into TopShop this skirt instantly screamed for my attention. It basically felt like it was calling on me from heaven. I mean, look at it!! The flower prints reminds me of primary school when we used to iron different prints(flowers, teddys etc) onto our denim and feel like the coolest kids in town, anyone else??
I’d been wanting a denim skirt for so long and this was just beyond everything i wished for. It was a bit pricy, being from TopShop and all, but seriously worth it!

A new obsession for me when it comes to clothing shops is New Yorker, so guess who found the perfect dress the second she walked into this shop? Me, me, me.

img_1854

A very simple, yet super pretty dress, that I’ve worn a lot this summer.

Last, but not least, we went into Urban Outfitters, the store I’m probably the most upset about not existing here in Norway. (I mean, come on, we deserve all these beautiful things too??) Since I was trying to save my money I did resist from emptying the shop completely, I actually did quite well and came out with only a daily journal + some galaxy fairy lights(that were on sale!!).

Isn’t this notebook the cutest? I just couldn’t resist.

These are the galaxy fairylights that I bought.  There is something so calming about having these kind of lights turned on in the evening, especially now in fall, while reading a book or just relaxing. I’m happy I bought these on sale though, as they were reduced from 110DKK(ca. £ 13) to 30DKK(ca. £ 3), and I actually would have been disappointed if I payed full price only to see that there weren’t that many lights in the package.

As you can probably understand, I am most satisfied with everything that I bought. It’s often easier to go shopping when you are trying to save money because it makes you prioritize a bit and only buy the things you want the most.

Hope you enjoyed this kind of ‘haul blog post’, there will most definitely be more. Let me know what items you liked the most in the comments!
